French artificial intelligence company Mistral has announced the close of a €3 billion Series D funding round, according to its own announcement. The company places its post-money valuation at more than €21 billion. Samsung Electronics led the round, joined by co-leads Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, and existing investor PSG Equity. Existing investors a16z, ASML, Belfius, BNP Paribas CIB, Bpifrance, Carmignac, DST Global, Eurazeo, General Catalyst, Headline, Hillspire, Index Ventures, Korelya Capital, Lightspeed, NVIDIA, Phoenix Court's Solar fund, and Salesforce Ventures also participated.

According to the announcement, made three years after the company's founding, Mistral now operates in 20 countries and supports the mission-critical AI transformations of more than 125 major enterprises, including Airbus, ASML, and HSBC. The progression of lead investors — Series C led by ASML, Series D by Samsung Electronics — points to sustained interest from the advanced manufacturing and industrial technology sectors.
